An in-depth course investigating the technical and creative issues required for successful fine-art, figure photography. Class sessions will provide an art historical overview of the traditions of the female figure in art, as well as studio time shooting with professional models. Technical instruction will demonstrate appropriate lighting techniques, equipment, and material choices specific to current, fine art standards. Class critique sessions will encourage the development of students’ compositional sophistication, and aid in the development of a distinctly personal style.

Photographing the Nude, call, 7:15 to 9:15 (until 9:45 during shooting sessions). Studio sessions will be held the second, fourth, and sixth sessions. Depending on enrollment there will be one or two models and the modeling fee will be from $60 - $90 per participant for the combined sessions. Tuition is $375. plus the modeling fee.

Jefferson Collins is a member of ASMP and received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the esteemed Berlin University of the Arts in Berlin, Germany. Mr. Collins has produced award winning, commercial photography assignments for advertising, editorial, and corporate clients such as AOL Time Warner and CBS Publications.
A former Board Member of Soho Photo Gallery in New York City, Mr. Collins’ fine-art photography has been exhibited in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and internationally in Berlin and Moscow. Mr. Collins’ elegant nudes have been featured in three solo exhibitions in New York City and he is currently preparing new figure work for an exhibition in Seattle. He resides in Atlanta where he teaches at The Creative Circus.

For travelers on I-75 or I-85 Northbound, Exit on Buford Highway/Monroe/Piedmont on I-85 North (just after the split of I-75 & I-85), go down the ramp and immediately take next exit at Monroe Drive, turn left at the light, go one block to light where you will go straight (over Piedmont), the road you are on after crossing Piedmont is Cheshire Bridge Rd, and we are the third building on the right. From I-85 South bound, exit at Lenox Rd / Cheshire Bridge Rd and turn left onto Cheshire Bridge, travel 1 1/2 miles and we are on the left. From I-75 traveling south, just after the Howell Mill / Northside Drive Exit there will be a left lane exit to I-85 North, take that exit and follow the instructions for I-85 Northbound.
